'Best Male Newcomer' Hot Country Award
Four in a row for Nathan.
It was a privilege to be among the huge crowd that
attended the Hot Country Music Award Show in the
beautiful Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone Co West Meath, on
Monday 10th May.
The hotel itself is situated right on the edge of the beautiful
Lough Ree, and the ballroom where the awards show took
place was warm and inviting, so what more could anyone
want, than to be there, sit back and enjoy a night of music
with the cream of Irish Country.
The show commenced promptly at 8 O'clock, and after a
few artists had preformed and a few awards had been
presented, it was time for the 'Best Male Newcomer
Award', and too our delight and that of the audience a
certain young man was introduced.
As soon as the name 'Nathan Carter' was mentioned the
applause was huge, and it was very obvious that many in
the crowd had seen him before, and enjoyed his music.
Nathan looked relaxed and happy as he took up the
microphone and sang 'The Games People Play', he then
thanked Hugh O'Brien from Hot Country for the invitation
to the Awards Show, the Mike Denver band who backed
him on the night, and every one there for the support he
had received during the short time he had been on the
road, with his band. Nathan then picked up his accordion
and played and sang his new single 'Where Do You Go To
My Lovely'….. and again the response he got was
tremendous.
Next Nathan was invited to go to the podium to receive his
award, so well done Nathan, that's four in a row…. no
mean feat by any standard.
I think the next thing on Nathan's 'To Do' list is to buy a
new display cabinet, as it looks like he is going to need it.
Well done Nathan, we are all proud of you.
