Nathan Carter is the brightest young singing star to hit Ireland for many years. Here is the story so far. Nathanwas born in the City of Liverpool. At the age of four he found his love for music and was given a piano accordion, whichhe quickly mastered. At age seven, Nathan started to enter Fleadh Ceoil Competitions in Accordion and Singing. At 15,he won the All Ireland Title for Traditional Singing. Nathan was determined to seek a career in the Music Industry, and at the tender age of 16 years, decided to leaveschool and follow his dream. His début album “Starting Out” contained such Country Classics as ‘Working Man;’ ‘Look At Us;’ ‘40 ‘Shades Of Green’ and Irish Standards ‘Isle Of Innisfree;’ ‘Carrickfergus’ and ‘Erin Gra Moi Chroi’ - bothTraditional Classics. “Starting Out” was a terrific success for a first album and it opened many doors thatwould otherwise be firmly locked, to someone so young. As a result of the popularityof “Starting Out,” Nathan was invited to perform, on two of the famous Cruises and atResort Residencies organised by Enjoy Travel. This experience led to invitations toperform, with great aplomb at high-profile dancing and concert venues throughout theUK. In his first year on the music scene, Nathan was invited to ‘open’ for such Giantsof the Irish entertainment industry as Tommy Fleming, Philomena Begley, Big Tom,Jimmy Buckley, Susan McCann and Mike Denver.In February 2008, Nathan was pleasantly surprised to be invited by the organisers, toattend The Irish World Awards Gala Night, at the Galtymore Dance Club,Cricklewood. Nathan was even more astounded, when he was announced as the“The Best Male Newcomer, Award Winner” for 2007. He then sang the Don Long'sclassic “Never Be The Sun.” The packed audience ‘brought the house down,’ withrapturous applause and much screaming, from the ‘young women’ of all ages! Such,was the demand for more, from the “The Best Male Newcomer of 2007” that theJames Peake Band, duly invited Nathan back on stage to perform a set, whichsatisfied the enormous demands, of his new and adoring fans.2008 continued to be a very busy time for Nathan Carter; he built on his success, withhis second album “On The Road.” Nathan created quite a stir amongst radiopresenters, with many top DJ’s choosing his second offering as their Album of theWeek. Pre-recorded and On Air, interviews followed at stations up and down thecountry and continue to do so.The future is even brighter for Nathan Carter, autumn 2009, will see him establish residency in Northern Ireland. Nosurprise there then; since his folks originally came from Newry. There will be the launch of the new Northern Irelandbased, Nathan Carter Band.
